BBQ sauce is made of mostly corn syrup. Only an idiot would slather that stuff on tasty meats.
I'm partial to rubs myself.

By militant I mean people who make it a point to harass vegetarians, like say things they know are certain to offend just to be obnoxious and rude. They know they can get away with it though because unlike other minority classes, vegetarianism transcends racial, religious, gender, economic and other more traditional class characteristics.
I'm a vegetarian, but I don't like militant vegetarians, either. I don't give people shit about their eating habits unless they start disparaging mine.

who insist on referring to eggs as "chicken menstruation" and milk as "tit snot" and cheese as "fermented mucus"...As a non-veg, I'd like to see the same respect here in the Lounge that I give to the veg and vegan people...doesn't happen though

I love everybody. But I also love cheese and eggs. I think certain vegans are lacto ovo if i remember correctly Hey I respect vegans..It takes a lot to believe in a cause so much that you actually change your life for it. It's noble and should be commended

|
(nicely, I promise)
Vegans are never ovo lacto.
Vegetarians can be ovo-lacto, but vegans are a different vegetarian subset who do not consume or use any animal tissues, including meat, milk, eggs, leather, etc.

When my position is attacked, either directly or indirectly, I will defend it. When my opinion is requested, I will give it. I will usually meet the same level of civility or aggression as my opponent. And I will make every effort to back my arguments up with cited facts. But I don't ever start veg/meat flame wars.

31. Since that first one was me, |

I guess I should explain that I just want people to connect those tissues with thier reality. A dozen tidy eggs in a tray looks like a very neat thing, and most people never really connect that with the generally infertile reproductive tissue expelled with the cloaca of a hen, which is exactly what it is. Not to disparage eggs (or eaters of chicken eggs,) just to point out what they're for.
Likewise, as somebody who has lactated and fed a baby, I'd never refer to milk as "tit snot." Milk is milk. Mammals need it. It's just the idea that humans need or ought to have any milk other than human milk that I find somewhat perverse.

44. I completely understand what you're saying |

I have the utmost respect and honor for the animals that I consume, as well as their products like milk and eggs and cheese. I *know* what I'm doing, consciously. Sniffa and I discussed this recently, and I really had to impress upon him the need for respect and awareness when we consume these creatures. I'm not at a place in my life yet where I can eschew it completely, but I can at least remain conscious of the sacrifice and the reality of it...at least I try to, every day. I hope you can hear where I'm coming from too
You *know* I love you so :loveya:
