Just in time for the Holidays: Rate your favorite Tele-Evanglist
Yes all the notorious names are in there including the mainstream like Falwell and Robertson and some of the really really bizarre like Benny Hinn and Peter Popoff.

Here's a chance to find out how your favorite TV Tele-Evanglist rates with the rest of the crop. You can even add your own rating and comments if you like

1. Ack! What a collection of charlatans, crooks and thieves!

That damned John Hagee! You should SEE that behemoth church he has in San Antonio. It's HUGE! Who wants to go sit and be preached about the end of the world? Ugh!

They all suck on ice. They prey on insecure people and suck them dry. x(

Spelling edit.

2. Man, I seriously love this name:
Dr. Creflo Dollar. Kinda' says it all, don't it?

Sounds like the name of a televangelist from a Kurt Vonnegut novel.

3. What about Jack van Impe and the lovely Rexella?
He's got to be one of the looniest, because he can't even hide behind the image of respectability that Robertson and some of the others do.

Billy Graham is likely the most trustworthy of all of them. He's not overly political and despite the Nixon tapes of some of his antisemtic remarks, he otherwise is known to have lived in a fairly ethical manner.

TD Jakes is one of the most entertaining. He sings, he moves around a lot, and he certainly knows his Bible.

6. Ernest Angely was my favorite...
A televangelist straight from central casting, complete with exaggerated southern drawl (and his pronunciation of JAY-sus), plastic-looking Devo hair and THE ABILITY TO HEAL THE SICK BY THE MERE TOUCH OF HIS HAND...

Praise JAY-sus!

11. I've talked to Rod Parsely
Edited on Tue Dec-23-03 02:03 PM by Papa
He's ranked 29th on that site. He called in to my place of employment to order something for his sister. This was about 5-8 years ago, he was not very preacher like at all....he was doing BEVIS & BUTTHEAD impersonations to me over the phone. I swear to God this is true. He runs a church here in central Ohio, the world harvest church. It's quite entertaining to watch on tv every now and then. He's a con artist in my opinion.
