:hi: you know, at first i didn't even see him. i was walking on a path near the visitor center and a slight movement caught my eye. i had to scramble for my camera, afraid he'd see me and bolt. but he just went back to scratching his neck. i just kept moving slowly away from him. the yosemite website says that they CAN charge if they feel threatened, and i didn't feel like taking a chance of some horns or hooves in my behind! there were also a female deer and fawn nearby that got a pic of, but didn't post. they were in the vicinity of the buck, so probably mates. it was just unusual to see them so close to so many people. i doubt they'd do this around the summer crowds....
it definitely is in the top of my "beautiful places" list!

18. It's funny, the wildlife really seems to know the difference between |
|
National Parks and National Forest (where hunting is allowed). In places like Yosemite or Sequoia the bears, deer, etc. couldn't care less if people are around, but outside the park that buck would have been long gone...
Great pictures!

it really is a "postcard perfect" picture. it's the view coming right out of the tunnel into yosemite. everyone stops there.

23. Been down here in the desert for 5 years now and.... |

really miss that area. Pine trees, rivers, lakes... I loved it there.
My daughter still lives near Angels Camp and I do visit whenever I can.

Thanks for sharing. Only been there once and it was family vacation so no climbing. I had to go up and touch the base of El Cap though.
