I've always been fascinated with lenticular clouds. I remember being about 5 or 6 years old reading some book on fascinating science type stuff. This was one of the things in there and I vividly remember the pictures in that book to this day. They mentioned they were mistaken as UFO's frequently as well. Nature's just amazingly beautiful, ain't it?
That side was all sorts of full of incredible pictures. I appreciate you posting the link.

CLOUDS
Such silly, wispy, dreamy things we see through sleepy eyes, while lying in the grassy park on warm and lazy days!
Daydreaming funny shapes within the quiet forms above-- Such fluffy puffs, such creamy toys! Sweet cotton-candy dreams.
Reach up and try, you sleepy-head, to catch your private clouds-- Imaginings all rolling past, especially for you!

Very common under stable weather conditions with high winds. The overall phenomenom is called mountain wave.
