14. Or whether you know
how to do it.

Can't adjust a wrist watch with a radial-arm saw, no matter how hard you try.

17. That tends to be kinda hard on the watch...
The real trick is to not cut the hand off at the wrist.

Sometimes it's the effort that counts as much as anything else. A woman wants to know that she's worth the work. That's half the battle right there.

Blow us off or give us the impression that that's what you're doing (it's all in the perception) and that's the last thing that'll get...

Oh.

Nemmind.

18. And sometimes the effort *isn't* enough
And we're left leaning frustratedly on the radial-arm saw, wondering why the fucking watch isn't working anymore.

19. Effort's never wasted
at the very least it's a start. The key part of the whole idea is 'as much as anything else'. If effort were all it took, then hell, Icarus would've been successful and we'd all be flying around with wings taped to our arms.

and what the fuck am I doing? Except shutting up now.

21. Uh uh
You were bangin' your head on the wall and I was worried you were either gonna injure yourself or start with the Excedrin...and it's too late for Excedrin.

If you insist on banging something....you could probably find something a little softer.

16. Some women are.
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 01:26 AM by Dangerously Amused

I'm not one of them though.

CATHERINE:

I'm your average ordinary kind of woman
Competent and neat
Making life a treat
Others as nice
You'll meet often I know
At least once or twice
Every decade or so

I'm your everyday, customary kind of woman
Practical as salt
Modest to a fault
Conservative with a budget
Liberal with a meal
Just your average ideal

My telling you this
May seem sudden and strange
It may not interest you much at all right now
But things change
Things change
Still I'll understand if I'm not your kind of woman
Anyone can make
One terrible mistake
And I've no special glamour
No bait I can twirl
For I'm just a plain, everyday
Commonplace, come-what-may
Average, ordinary
wonderful girl.

27. Women are like Muslims
The actions of one seem to implicate them all.

One woman is hard work, why don't you tell us about her rather than generalizing about us all?

I'm not hard work at all, but that's why I never got a man. Men want a challenge. How's that for a generalization? But you fall right into it. Obviously you would not respect a woman who is not "hard work."
