Yes, I am familiar with the butting they do, but never, EVER heard them moan!

Then again, I had a Redfoot Tortoise once also, and when he would get excited, he would turn his head from side to side and say what sounded like, "chuck, chuck, chuck, chuck". This little boy was so confused and love starved that even a man's boot would elicit that response.
