It's REALLY helpful. But your post is OFF TOPIC; it's a diacritical mark, not punctuation. :spank:

You SAY you like them but you won't let them in your little restricted punctuation club, huh?

They are beloved guides to pronunciation, indicators of tense, guideposts along dem Weg zum Erfolg diese verdammte Sprache zu beherrschen... (I KNOW I mangled that but FUCK IT, beer run time).

Please, people, if you use a semi-colon, make sure you've got a complete sentence on both sides of it; the grammar gods will bless you. Thank you.

I can understand misuse of the semicolon and other punctuation, but turning a plural into a singular possessive just befuddles me.

Which is very odd because the apostrophe has the most simple and obvious rules to follow of all punctuation.
Grammarians can argue for hours over a comma, but with an apostophe it's sooooooo damn simple.
Albeit, I have to admit to messing making mistakes with them when I'm trying to think and type too quickly.

I love the semicolon and use it correctly. :hi: I also do not abuse apostrophes. I despise seeing one out of place, missing, and/or used incorrectly.

I have no problem with the semicolon; it has its uses. But I hate people who can't tell the difference between a contraction and a possessive pronoun. It happens all the frigging time. :grr:
And dear Gaia, do I get pissed when people turn plurals into possessives. :nuke: The only exception is when it would be confusing to leave out the apostrophe.
And when the hell did people decide to start spelling definitely with an "a"?! :grr:

I don't know what infuriates me more: the fact that the proprietor had a sign made up that reads "Star Custom's" or that a sign maker built it.
