You must be thinking of Colorado...our crime-ridden nemesis to the west.

Oh wait...you said bowl game. Well then, couldn't be Colorado...

44. I tried to research it but couldn't find anything
It was something pretty serious like a rape allegation or something just as serious. Maybe it wasn't a bail thing but instead something like letting them off suspension to play in a certain game. However, whenever I know it was while Osborne was still coaching.
I'm an ex Nebrasks native myself and I used to wear an OU jersey just to piss people off in my rowdy days.

52. You're probably thinking of Lawrence Phillips
In 1995, he was arrested for dragging his girlfriend down the stairs by her hair...after he found her having sex with Scott Frost (who later became the starting quarterback). Osborne suspended him, pending the police investigation, but ended up reinstating him in the middle of the season.

He fought for the starting job with Ahman Green, and ended up starting in the 1996 Fiesta Bowl, where we kicked the living hell out of Florida.

It was a controversial decision at the time, but Osborne claimed that he felt Phillips would benefit from the structure of the football program (which is rather famous for its successful mentoring program).

As far as I know the charges against Phillips were dropped. Or, at least, he never served jail time for it.

There are no full pictures of the city, but I think these sum it up.

Sadly, Roosevelt Stadium has been ripped down, but I saw plenty of local football games there with my dad as a kid.

14. Well hello there my fellow FWB'er
I was born there at Eglin in 1962 and the family lived there on and off over the years. We lived about two blocks from the "Goofy Golf" as a kid. I went back to live there in 1984 after leaving the Army and stayed there a year before moving to Jacksonville. Me and Shepard Smith of FOX News used to be managers at the Hardees in Cinco Bayou which was a Whataburger the last time my wife and I visited. That was before the two bad hurricanes, Dennis and Ivan which I hope didn't cause you any problems.

Also, my mom was a Choctawhatchee High graduate forever ago.

that's pretty much forever ago too. :) Your mom must have graduated from Choctaw when it was over at the Meigs Middle School location.

We moved here in 1964 (AF brat too). Live way up at the northwestern end of Garnier Bayou, just before the AF reservation land starts.

I remember the Hardees well too, after a late night on the island, we always used to stop by for some "breakfast".

I used to be a bartender at the old Sand Flea restaurant along with the Sound restaurant. Who knows, maybe I served you a drink or shucked you a dozen oysters. I moved away for awhile, and returned in 1999 to stay.

I actually saw another friend on TV one time, you may know him too. Chris Larr (not sure of last name) but him and his K9 partner won a national competition. I knew Chris right when he first signed up with the Okaloosa sheriff's department.
