1. I'll make an educated guess that they are from Georgia. Not US Georgia..
Soviet Union Georgia. I once was at a Russian night club here in Brooklyn and some guy from Georgia had too much to drink and became violent towards the woman I was with. He never hit her, but it was close. And I'm sure she provoked him, but his rage was way out of line.

I was told later that men from Georgia tend to be very violent with women. I have no way to know if it's true, and I have no desire to investigate.

2. I've never heard that.
I'll ask my friend at work who is from that area.

Still, I wouldn't make any excuses for that kind of behavior.

4. The man's behavior is inexusable.
I was only trying to shed some light. I'm pretty sure the music and dancing is russian or eastern european.

5. I know...thanks
It sounded Greek or Turkish to me. I couldn't tell, for sure.

6. Yeah, she obviously deserved it!
:sarcasm:

Looks like she was messing with his rhythm. Hope he trades her in soon for a more cooperative version of herself.

7. Dizackly!
I abhor violence, unless it is a woman slapping me. That's a different story.

8. If you were going to kill your husband, KC2, how would you do it?
Poisoning? Strangulation? Gunshot to the head?

;)

9. I could never imagine harming my husband, because he would
never harm me. He just knows better...that's all.

11. Would a piece of shit like that really be worth going to prison over?...
...just hire a good attorney, and take him to the cleaners. You'd have plenty of witnesses...;-)

12. Is it possible that the slap is part of the dance?
There're some pretty strange cultural customs, y'know.

On that note, why do we call a certain type of shirt a "wife beater"? I find this abhorrent.

13. Watch the video again, you'll see the guy next to him grab his arm...
...in the end, to try and keep him in check. I don't think it was normal. My bet is, he was drunk and out of control. But the lack of response from his wife/girlfriend, shows it probably wasn't the first time.

14. Okay, yeah
I didn't notice that the first time.

I'd go with drunk and out of control, too. The slap came out of nowhere.

That's what prompted me to think it might be part of the dance — he didn't appear to be angry with her or anything. It looked like he slapped her in a sort of natural course of dancing. Of course, that could also be a product of drunkenness.
