That's what they were called when I was a hospital nursing assistant, and no man or woman wanted one.
Maybe we should give "foley" a catheter. }(

4. You are missing the most interesting, most wonderful, most excellent
part of movie making:

"While the dialogue editor is stuck in front of a computer, I'm on my feet all day throwing car doors around and punching roasted chickens."

7. Yeah
I think movies as well. I used to spend a lot of time in the sound department when I was at Universal, so that naturally leaps to mind.

20. That's my first reaction, too!
As it would be with any good film buff.

"Catheter" would be my second reaction. :-)

6. I don't
but when I hear catheter I think stent. And I think about the stent going from my Kidney to my Bladder. And then I think about how they going to remove this on Thursday. Please Lord let them put me unconscious. I'm imagining them taking a catheter with a claw on the end and then them Roto-Rootering their way to my bladder where the claw grabs hold of the stent and then they YANK IT OUT.

Pardon me while I set free another Kidney stone.

10. A medical device placed in the bladder to collect urine
Its used for patients who have lost control of bladder function temporarily due to surgery or illness or permanently due to paralysis...

Not much fun having one inserted.

17. Where the hell did you get that diagram
That is for a bladder irrigation system, a regular foley cath does not use a hanging bottle of water. That is a triple lumen cath for when a man has prostate surgery.
