What time is it in England right now?
I seriously need to talk to someone who knows the time zones pretty well. It's important to find out by Tuesday night. I'd prefer to figure it out and find a time tonight. I'm so confused. Let's just say that my computer is telling me it's 10:35 here on the East coast of Dipshit, King George's Country.

1. I'm pretty sure they're five hours ahead of EST.
So, it's 10:30 for me, and it should be 3:30 a.m. for them.

5. Hmm, thank you.
I'm looking for calculus help from a genius I know over there who comes here to DU sometimes. I don't want to wake him up though. He's very kind to me, but I'd hate to wake him. ;)

12. I'm really interested to know how you would wake me
given that you don't have my phone number or anything. ;)

What would you like to know? :hi:

18. Apparently, I would use mental telepathy.

I guess. :P

Btw, I love how you knew who I was trying to find. There must be some mental telepathy going on here for sure. :)

I'm having a tough time with my calculus homework and I've been so busy that I haven't been able to get online much lately. When I do, it seems we miss each other.

I seemed to be doing just fine cyphering this calculus until we got to implied derivatives and related rates.

Here in on example of what is stumping me. I'd like to know how to do it by hand step by step so I can continue making progress in my studies in the different types of maths. Like I have always said, I am not really good at math, but I can't get it out of my head until I solve it somehow.

Here is the one problem that is stumping me above all others:
(note that the π means pi and the Θ is my screwed up way to refer to the angle. I have always hated the limits on typing math (like for 2 squared having to type 2^2.) That specialized math keyboard or font is still on my mind lately.)

For the engine shown in the figure, a 7-inch connecting rod is fastened to a crank of radius 3 inches. The crankshaft rotates counterclockwise at a constant rate of 250 rpm. Find the velocity of the piston (dx/dt) when (the angle) Θ = π/3 and dΘ/dt=250(2π)) or 500π.

I know I am supposed to use the law of cosines, but I'm still getting used to this dx/dt stuff.

4. I'm Mountain Standard time seven hours different.
Since you are in the Eastern time zone that
is three hours from here, I think if it's 11:00 pm where you are,
it is probably 2 am in London.
I think.

early one morning between now and Tuesday. I need a certain genius' attention. :)

11. this is a great website.
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

under the heading where it says 'personal world clock' you can make a list of cities so you can keep track of everyone. I had to do this during the figure skating season last year since all the people I was friends with except for maybe three were in other countries; I could never remember what time it was there so I made a list of all the countries everyone lives in and made it my homepage. You can sort the above link by city or country.
