I have HAD it with TV portraying EVERY strip club as a haven for crime.

Lazy-ass writers I guess, who can't come up with a different story line that combines sexy and trashy as well. I'm not suprised, but I'm getting damn tired of it.

ANY strip club worth their salt these days has cameras outside in the parking lot and walks their girls to the cars, etc. etc. If not, the word gets around and girls who want to work at a good place know not to go there.

We are not all abused. We are not all on drugs. We are not all even single mothers. We don't all hate our jobs. We are not always robbed for our tips every time we walk out our door. Not all of our customers are dumbasses.
Blah blah blah blah.

Eh, I don't know why I even bother to get upset about it...


Oh, and one more thing...some of us actually wear DRESSES that come down to our ANKLES. REALLY.

I went to strip joints a lot when I was younger and I never saw anything that would make me think they weren't safe for both clients and employees...

Not to say that on occassion something didn't happen...

But hey, convient stores are a magnet for crime...

5. I was a stripper once

I didn't think there was all that much that was worthy of stereotyping in a movie. In high school, I earned extra bucks helping this guy work the floors all over Norfolk, Virginia.




After hours... when the drugstores were closed...








We would strip the floors, wax them, and seal them.

I got paid under the table for 2 or 3 hours work. Easy money.

Still, it wasn't glamorous, and hardly crime-ridden... :shrug:

products and their commercials which try to make women feel dirty simply because they menstruate.

"Now you can be shower clean, without the shower" (the ad for the new feminine hygiene towelette.

Well, I showered once already today thank you, and period or no period, I won't shower again until tomorrow (unless I hit the gym, which is a distinct possibility).

Strip clubs make a lot of money. For the strippers. Think of the establishment owners as guys running around just picking up the crumbs. Granted, they're nice sized crumbs.

And in all honesty, its the last bastion (besides illegal drug sales) of true capitalism.
