Why is it
that when I want to take a picture of something, my camera's always someplace else?

GAH!

Sunset's gorgeous tonight and it's lasted for at least the last 30 minutes. The sky turned orange and when it reflected off all the gold trees -- the world literally glowed.

I'm gonna have to start carrying it with me more.

*sigh*

1. It's just the rules...
the really cool and exciting things only happen when you're camera is not around! :hi:

4. Another rule:
You think of the killer answer after the smartass has turned around and left.

5. That one's a given.
Happens to me all the time. Or it's the one smartass you can't snark at for one reason or the other and you've got the PERFECT retort that'd put him (or her) in his (or her) place so fast they wouldn't know what hit 'em.

Not that I've thought about it or anything.

:hi:

But I really don't want to leave it in my car......

It's a problem, that's for sure......

Your description sounds great though.......almost as good as a pic!

6. Thanks, Peggy.
Even if I had had the camera, I probably couldn't have done much. I'm at work and the windows are tinted and it wouldn't quite be the same if I went downstairs. Angle would've been different.

One day I'll catch it, though.

3. On the positive side, it did help to ensure the continued existence of the
Greater Lounge Post. Truely a wild, rare & beautiful critter that should be preserved at all costs!

7. Heh...the lounge post is in absolutely no danger of extinction...
Not as long as I've got fingers to type with, anyway.

8. For a long time, I wanted to do nothing more than
take pictures. I had my own studio and darkroom. I carried my camera everywhere, but I never captured any great images.

What I did realize was that, when I was inspired, I grabbed my TLR and went out into my place and captured what I was presented with.

The way I see it, if you were shown something that you didnt have your camera for, it was for you alone to savor. If you were shown something that you did have your camera for, it was for you to show other people.

Keep your sunset for future inspiration. Be inspired to use your camera to see into the places that are harder to discern and then inspire others.

But, thats just my kind of Zen.

Just smile and remember the sunset like I remember all of mine. :)
