Today in music history 10-3
Happy Birthday to Tommy Lee of Motley Crew (44). I'm sure someone here gives a crap.

1967 - Woodrow Wilson "Woody" Guthrie, US folk singer/guitarist, dies at 55. Woodie was said to be terrified in his last few years by what he called "Dylan the stalker". What can you say about a this guy?

1945 - Elvis Presley makes his first public performance. The 10-year-old wins $5 for singing "Old Shep" at the Mississippi-Alabama Dairy Show talent contest. Elvis was said to have be strung out on "sugar babies" and jelly beans during the performance. When confronted about the candy, Elvis shot back "They were prescription candies man!".

1954 - Blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan is born in Dallas. Stevie perfected his two blues licks as a child and went on to become a legend before his untimely death. Stevie Ray was in the process of learning a new guitar lick.

2000 - No longer needing to be so worried about "who's gonna drive ya home....tonight". Ben Orr (Ben Orzechowski), former bassist and singer of the Cars, dies at his home in Atlanta from pancreatic cancer. He is 53.

1992 - Sinead O'Connor tears up a photo of Pope John Paul II during a performance on the TV show ``Saturday Night Live.'' Currently Ms. O'Conner is performing the dinner shows at Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show in Branson, MO.

1983 - Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson release "Say, Say, Say" in UK. When asked why he wanted to record a song with McCartney, Jackson replied "I think it is because of Paul's cute boyish looks".

1947 - Happy Birthday to Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham. Buckingham would leave Fleetwood Mac in 1987 due to almost being killed by band member Stevie Nicks. Apparently Buckingham woke one morning in his hotel room only to find Nicks trying to snort him.

1996 - Van Halen fires David Lee Roth again. The band and Roth had gotten back together in June after an 11 year separation to record a couple of songs for the group's greatest hits package. Apparently no one has ever bothered to tell the members of Van Halen that they haven't really mattered after their first album.

And in 1994 Gary Larson, announces he is retiring from doing "Far Side" cartoon. Yeah, not music, but a sad sad day.

I've tried to convince her to get an STD check, but she's pretty insistant that you can't get STDs from looking at pictures on a computer/tv. After that picture you posted, I'm gonna stop off at the doctor's office on my way back to school, just to be safe.
