9. What a waste

Bush rarely ever reads, doesn't watch TV or movies, takes a nap every afternoon when he should be working, and is in bed every night by 9:30. He never, ever admits to making mistakes even when the proof is right out there for everyone to see. He also coasted through Ivy League schools with "gentlemen's Cs" and his dad's buddies have bailed him out of his numerous failed business ventures. Not to mention the fact that he's an unrepentant warmonger.

Yeah, he's some role model. Good choice, Stockton. :eyes:

Now, every two-bit egomaniac can get his name slapped on schools, office blocks, roads, bridges and ships. It's like the whole world has gone Donald Trump overnight. 26. I live not far from there...

A few years ago, our district sent home letters with the students saying they were building some new schools and wanted families to make suggestions as to what the names of the schools should be. One of the finalists was, you guessed it, George W. Bush Elementary. Thankfully, that idea was shot down.

I find that name outrageous on multiple levels: One, that as a sitting president, it just seems very partisan. I could stomach (just barely) Ronald Reagan Elementary a bit better because that seems like ancient history; two, Bush is no friend of the public school system, so it seems bizarre to name a school after him; and three, he's such an inarticulate goof, and makes so many grammatical errors, he seems like a very poor example for our school kids.
