OK. So my Mom sent Magglio Ordonez (Detroit Tiger's right fielder) a letter saying how much i think he's awesome and that I defend him. She put in A picture of him that we took at one of the games! HE SENT IT BACKED SIGNED!!! THAT'S RIGHT I HAVE HIS AUTOGRAPH!!!! That means that after he saw me on Sunday he had to have signed the picture and sent it out yesterday. This he did all while getting ready to go to New York! I'm so excited. He even left fingerprints on it. Signed his full name and number!!!! Plus you know he had to lick the envelope(unless he used water but i like to think he didn't) OMGGGGG!!!!! MY MOM ROCKS!!!!! (AND MAGGLIO TOO)

You have to check around in the off season and see if he'll be any where around the state. Maybe at a baseball card show, something like that.
Sometimes, they do autograph sessions. It'll be a quick thing, sign a ball or card, shake a hand, maybe take a pic but at least she'll get to see him.

I worked on the movie Armageddon when it filmed in Houston and when I was leaving one of the hotels one of the staff asked me to pass something along to Bruce Willis, I politely said I would get it to him, but had no intention to do so.
Instead of throwing it away I opened the package and found a letter like the one you describe and some 8x10's to sign along with a pre-stamped envelope.

So I signed them.

I signed every picture as Bruce Willis and in some photos from films where other actors were in the picture (Ex. Bruce and John Travolta from Pulp Fiction), I signed for them.

I wrote the guy a nice letter and dropped it in the mail, I have no idea if it worked or not but it is a story that this post made me remember.
