11. I really did have a good night.

I surprised myself by dropping off into a nap immediately after supper. Darn it! I missed Jericho! But I was awake by 9 PM for the next few hours of who_done_its. None of my aches & pains kicked-up last night :shrug: there's something to be said for a good wood stove's heat. Yes, it was a very good night. I'm going to miss this place.

13. We've only had it for a year but it cut our heating bills down by 2/3.

I need to pick out the new floor to complete renovations in a huge living room that once featured an odd shaped pool and put the place on the market.
These winters are killing me. I'll miss sitting in the jacuzzi watching it snow but I won't miss hibernating.

15. It's a double-edge sword.

I spent years remodeling this old house: picking out tiles to redo two bathrooms (I called mine The Grotto after we installed pewter towel bars that ended in tree shapes), red oak molding for my bedroom (it looks great with mossy olive green walls), new hardwood floors to replace the carpet, new central air to replace the system that failed right after we bought the house. A new, redesigned roof (because an old add-on room made the shape of the old roof all wrong = it was rotting out due to improper drainage of winter ice build-up). This place doesn't look the same as it did 10 years and a $100,000 ago.

We planted flower bulbs and blooming trees every year until two years ago. I'll never get to see my Magnolia in bud. I love this house if I could only move it and my flowers 1,500 miles south
