It's gonna be a very long month
I've been up since 5:00am. The advertising running during the local news is nothing but political ads, and they're nasty. Ohio's a battleground, again.

Sigh. :(

*sigh*

3. Good one!
The ads with Ken Blackwell make my skin crawl. Ewwww.

5. There's some ugly ones here
in the attorney general race. It's Jerry Brown, the former "Governor Moonbeam," against some assbag state senator named — I kid you not — Chuck Poochigian. (His district is where Fwee Wepubwic is headquartered, if that tells you anything.)

The radio ads, which air about every inning during Dodger games, rip Brown for campaigning for clemency for the Freeway Killer when Brown was governor — 24 years ago. They're nasty in that they have some snarky soccer mom starting with "This is hard to stomach, but..." And they're called "Jerry Brown Watch."

Well, Jeebus Fuck. Brown's always been against the death penalty. But these ads make it sound like he singled out that one guy, and like he wanted him to go free.

I really think we need laws regarding honesty in campaign ads. So many of those fuckers just lie, lie, lie.

6. The Governor's race in MI has been horrid... I am betting tens of
millions of dollars have been spent by Dick"head" Devos. Every commercial break is either a campaign commercial slamming Granholm or a "Isn't Amway the greatest?" commercial. :grr:

8. Now that sounds like fun!
I'd like to take a swipe at Santorum.

Lelapin always :eyes: when I talk back to the tv or radio. I know they can't hear me, but *I* feel better and that's all that matters. Right? ;)

10. You should all move to Britain
Election campaigns are very low key here. Even general election campaigns only last a month, and all you see are a few adverts on the BBC and bill posters everywhere.

12. Hey
I am okay, although I am feeling a bit quiet.

Kidding aside, it is a bit step to move to another country, and not one that should be taken lightly.

How are you, sweetie? :loveya:

Not ready to quit just yet. It's okay to be quiet. More :* and  for you.

:loveya:

My sister loves your country. She's said if anything happened to her husband, she wouldn't move back here. She likes the pace of life and the people in her town.

17. If I could be assured we would win in Nov. It wouldn't seem so
long 'till then. After the dissapointments of '00, and '04 it seems like forever 'til Nov. 07. I am enjoying the implosion of the republican party to help pass the time.

18. The meltdown
has been long in coming. :)

That is a definite plus. And think, in '04 we didn't have Olbermann or Colbert to help us organize the absurdity.

24. Hang in there
Even in heavy red Dublin I'm hearing how sick people are of how the state (and country) are being run, and how a change has to happen. I stopped last night at On the Rocks (a local bar, for those not from around here) with my buddy Shawn and sat on the patio to watch the storms. We got talking with about 15 other locals about politics and everyone really agreed that republicans have to go and it's time for the state to be run by people that are not crooks, namely Democrats :)

Like I said, I'm not ready to give up on my country yet. But all that negativity at 5:00am is just too much sometimes. Where's On The Rocks? (What's it near?)

28. Get a suction cup dart gun. I couldn't have made it through 2004 without
one. Also buy an extra clip for it - it saves you from having to get up and pick up the little suction cup darts all the time.

I unloaded on W every time I saw his stinkin' face on my screen. The debates were awesome that way!
