My brother, who is gay, tells me this is an issue for him though. He wants a relationship but says it's hard because most gay men who advertise themselves (on the internet or in bars etc) are only after sex. I wouldn't know but I can buy it. The more subdued people are probably not doing that sort of thing and they're a lot harder to find.

Too many people assume that the gay scene is where all gay men are to be found.

Certainly the scene is sex obsessed, and personally I think is concerningly so (and frightfully tastelessly so)...but away from the scene there are many other gays who aren't so utterly single-minded. They (well actually we) are far less visible as being gay, but are homosexual nonetheless.

I can definitely see your brother's problem, finding a relationship on the scene is nigh on impossible...a long relationship means breakfast the morning after. Hope he finds somebody brilliant soon. :hi:

I've never encountered any group of people who obsess about sex more than conservatives/the religious right. I know/have known gay and straight men, straight and lesbian women, bisexual men and women, a woman who claimed she was asexual but slept with men, transsexuals and so on. None of them were as obsessed with sex (particularly sex other people were having/might have) as much as these other freaks.
