Hey, Iggle fans! Did you really cheer Michael Irvin's injury? |
|
I saw that game, saw Irvin go down, heard the cheers. Here's what I saw. I saw Irvin lying still on the turf. The camera zoomed in on his motionless face, and the crowd was quiet. I saw Irvin move slightly, and the fans began cheering. I interpreted that to be the standard "Yea, he's moving, that's a relief, let's cheer encouragement!" that you normally see in an injury like that.
Then the announcers began calling the Eagle fans classless, etc. I thought they misunderstood the cheering, but the story still lingers.
Eagles fans, what say you? Were your fellow fans happy that Irvin lay motionless on the field, or were they cheering his movement? Inquiring Dallas fan minds want to know.

1. I wasn't there for that game BUT |

I would say, as a native Philadelphian, cheering for an injury is totally something Eagles fans WOULD do. :) We did throw batteries at Santa Claus, after all. Heh.
