My dog has no normal heartbeat, just arrhythmias
He had a gastropexy for bloat last night and the surgery went well.

But in a 3rd of cases the body throws out a lot of things that attack the heart. This is what is happening. I just visited him for 20 minutes in the hospital. He seemed to get emotional and upset by my being there, so I left. There's absolutely nothing I can do.

He got past the first big hurdle but this one is a big one too. Its a great clinic, and I can call any time... Some of the meds for his heart take 24 hours to work, so he may be like this for a while... or he may get better, or he may die....

1. What's the full workup?
What did the bloodwork show?

If the gastro went well, and the bloat didn't do any "significant" damage, he should be okay.

3. The bloat did not do significant danage according to the surgeon
- his internal organs looked good and regained their normal color quickly. They haven't done a full blood workup because they're trying to keep costs down for me. He's having an ECG every few hours and it was good at first, then started showing abnormalities.

The vet considers these to be transient. He should get better with treatment, no guarantees. Thought I could bring him home in the morning but now it won't be till his heartbeat is stablized by meds.

7. Harry, right?
Wish you were closer geographically.

Good vet, keep the costs down but the animal up. As it should be.

Harry is going to be just fine. You should say that out loud, then repeat it as needed...

If the vet gives you expensive scripts, drop me a pm...
