It... is Done.

:D

Well, mostly. The shed's packed to the gills, all that's left are two dressers, a lamp, and her fireproof box thingy. :eyes:

There's a couple of garbage sacks full of clothes in the mud room, too. And her daughter has to come get the baby swing thingy out of what was once "Grandma's Nursery." But that last I know BabyDaddy'll take care of pronto, he's a good egg that way.

Still no sign, no phone call... actually, some sign, when I drove down to the store for celebratory pizza purchase (!) I spotted her car in front of the house she's set up the house-sitting gig at. So she lives.

Anyhow. Done. Kinda. Mostly. Done. :)

..to start one entitled "We're finished!" I'm so happy my husband and I are finished staining that stupid, stupid fence! Whew! It feels great to have a task that was hanging over your head completed, doesn't it? Though, I know you have a lot more feelings associated with yours...

2. If I were you
I'd been knocking a cold one back and wondering if the shed should be part of an accidental sacrifice by fire.

But that's me, and it's probably a good thing that you're not me.

Congrats. Suggest you send her a registered letter telling her she has X days to pick her stuff up or you're giving it away.

3. Sounds like a very productive day, or few days.
Enjoy the pizza, and be glad for the reasoned steps you have taken. In the long run, that'll matter as much as anything.

7. Whoopsie
She just showed up!

Loaded the mud room stuff, supposedly will be right back for the dressers. Super pissy mood, of course. Hopefully I can get her to relax enough to broach the topic of money owed young Robb. :yoiks:

You are being strong. I hope you sleep very well tonight knowing the house is finally, nearly, purged.

How your afternoon and evening wound up going... I'm glad to hear that progress is being made, even if it's not quite how you wanted it.

9. Hey Robb, she doesn't deserve it but...
you might want to scatter cedar blocks around the shed to keep vermin out. Mothballs are more effective but smell so bad I think most people prefer the vermin. If she's going into evil witch mode, the latter would probably cause unnecessary conflict. On the other hand, if she's going into dawdling drunk mode (as seems apparent), might as well help keep her stuff from getting infested (which would also cause unnecessary conflict, ie if it got infested). Can you tell that I used to be in the self-service storage biz?

14. Hip hip!!! (UPDATE, again)
Well, she made two trips before "I can't do any more tonight. I just can't." All mad and stuff.

Anyhow, she got enough I was able to get the two dressers into the mud room, which is always open (small town) and I then

closed

and

locked

the

house.

Sigh. Bittersweet.

She got her wish, after all. And you have been a right angel "helping" her pack.

Does she have a place to put all her stuff yet?

17. Redstone, Redstone, Redstone...
Shit is gone. The dressers a mutual friend will pick up, apparently she doesn't want them. I give him two days -- he's actually responsible.

As to the shed, it's going to be on my schedule. I have the key. If she asks for a key, I will ask her for storage rent.

In the meantime, locks change tomorrow noon. And all will be at peace. :)

19. Listen to me, my friend. Do NOT get involved with "storage rent," "friends
who will pick things up," or ANYTHING that will prolong the agony and / or cause any unnecessary contact.

You're just feeding the Beast if you get involved in that.

Move it to the street. Now. Trust me on this.
