Anybody been hiking in Death Valley?
Looking to go early next month and would like any info on what area would be good for a 3 day backpacking trip.

1. Take lots and lots of water on your hike, let people know where
you'll be, hike with a buddy, and recognize you will not get cell service in a lot of areas.

I haven't hiked there, but I've heard a lot about it.

2. Meeting a friend in Vegas
We've been hiking and climbing together for nearly 40 years. I just bought some new lighter weight gear so I can handle the extra water load. Taking the winter sleeping bag to handle the 20-25 degree temperature drop at night.

3. I know a 63 year old App Trail Thruhiker who is doing that hike
He did parts of it last year.
