Gosh, I love the Beatles so much.
Heard this earlier today on the radio in a four-song Beatles set:

Something in the way she moves,
Attracts me like no other lover.
Something in the way she woos me.
I don't wanna leave her now,
You know I believe, and how.

Somewhere in her smile she knows,
That I don't need no other lover.
Something in her style that shows me.
I don't wanna leave her now,
You know I believe and how.

You're asking me will my love grow,
I don't know, I don't know.
You stick around now, it may show,
I don't know, I don't know.

Something in the way she knows,
And all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't wanna leave her now.
You know I believe and how.

****

2. I couldn't agree more.
I found myself driving down the road "yesterday", listening to St. Pepper reprise and signing at the top of my lungs.

7. Get thee to a "record" store as soon as possible.
Rubber Soul and Sgt Pepper are required at a minimum.

12. Baby's In Black...
Oh dear, what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?
She thinks of him and so she dresses in black,
And though he'll never come back, she's dressed in black.
Oh dear, what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?
I think of her, but she thinks only of him,
And though it's only a whim, she thinks of him.
Oh how long will it take,
Till she sees the mistake she has made?
Dear what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?
Oh how long it will take,
Till she sees the mistake she has made?
Dear what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?
She thinks of him and so she dresses in black,
And though he'll never come back, she's dressed in black.
Oh dear, what can I do?
Baby's in black and I'm feeling blue,
Tell me, oh what can I do?

Rain

If the rain comes they run and hide their heads.
They might as well be dead.
If the rain comes, if the rain comes.
When the sun shines they slip into the shade
(When the sun shines down.)
And sip their lemonade.
(When the sun shines down.)
When the sun shines, when the sun shines.
Rain, I don't mind.
Shine, the weather's fine.
I can show you that when it starts to rain,
(When the Rain comes down.)
Everything's the same.
(When the Rain comes down.)
I can show you, I can show you.
Rain, I don't mind.
Shine, the weather's fine.
Can you hear me, that when it rains and shines,
(When it Rains and shines.)
It's just a state of mind?
(When it rains and shines.)
Can you hear me, can you hear me?
If the rain comes they run and hide their heads.

In My Life

There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all

But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more

Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more

13. I absolutely love the piano solo on "In My Life."
It actually was a grand piano, I believe, only with the sound modified to give it that electric/Fender Rhodes-ish sound.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

18. Y'know...this is actually kinda weird in a way...
...that a bright and talented kid of 2006 should be so appreciative of a 40-year old band...and it should be regarded as so natural. Believe me--similar kids in 1966 were *not* particularly appreciative of Al Jolson or Rudy Vallee... We always hear that things are changing faster all the time--but it really isn't true...culturally, we're still very much in the same milieu, if you will, that developed and hardened in the 60s and 70s...thus endeth the history lesson...:-(...

19. I like Isaac Hayes' cover of that song
Edited on Sun Oct-08-06 10:26 PM by catbert836
better than the Beatles version. Now hear me out: I just think that Hayes' reinterpretation of it as a soul love anthem just puts George Harrison to shame. It's like he's showing George how a love ballad is really done.

On edit: I just realized that George Harrison is my avatar. Yikes!
