8. race completed
I must confess I had to walk about a mile of it. Temperatures in Boston were close to 80 today and I'm just not used to running outdoors in weather like that.

My official time was around 1.5 hours.

9. Well, I'm impressed!
Good for you for making it through. Eighty degrees is definitely not the best running weather. Congratulations!! :bounce:

but you can only do what you can do.

15. You finished!
Not many people could even say they did that. I know a couple of people at work training for the Chicago marathon. That seems even more unfathomable to me.

Are you going to do another event?

16. not this year
these long distance events mess w/ my schedule, and with me back at night school, I need my schedule to be more reliable.

17. It gives you something to work toward.
Sometimes the effort made in the attempt to achieve the goal is more worthy than the goal itself.

18. Good for you -- and there's no shame in walking
I'm friends with some elite trail ultrarunners, who do several 100 and 50 mile races a year. Walking is built into their training, and the training programs they've created for me also incorporate it. You're in good company!

GOOD FOR YOU!!!
