Tigers vs. Cardinals
Repeat of the 1968 World Series. How cool would that be?

1. Incredibly cool
And not just 1968, but also 1934...two of the more memorable Series in history...

10. Yup

He slid hard into... Gehringer, I think.

Detroit fans dinna like that.

bif might've been thinking about Dean standing on the mound and laughing at the Tiger hitters.

When he gave up a coupla hits in the ninth of game seven, Frisch came over to get him, even though St. Louis was ahead 11-0. Dean supposedly said, "Frankie, you ain't takin' me out of this game, and you know it. Go back to second."

5. That's what I've been hoping for
since about 9 o'clock last night.

Heebus Q, what a year that was! McLain's 31 wins, Gibson's 1.12 ERA.

Then McLain tanked in the Series. Lolich pulled it out for 'em.

6. very few outside of the Midwest would watch it. Would be cool
I don't have much respect for the Cardinals this season, and would have to root for the Tigers. But it would be nice to see.

I will be rooting for the Cardinals over the Mets
