I just saw "Pulp Fiction" for the first time...

...I know, I know--an almost inconceivable state of affairs...:blush: How the hell can anyone, in this year of our Lord 2006, not have seen "Pulp Fiction"?... Well--I can manage stuff like this...:eyes: I have no inclination to review the film at this time. I will say, however, that while watching it--and indeed, even now when I think of it--I had an intense desire to do handsprings, sing an aria from "La Traviata", launch a 21-gun salute, and various other stuff along those lines... Wow. And wow again...:-)...

I remember when it came out in the theater, and after the "Any of you move, and I'll execute every motherfucking last one of you!" line, when Dick Dale's "Miserlou" kicked in and the words "Pulp Fiction" decended/ascended onto the big screen, it was such a "Whoa!" moment.

True Romance - another excellent Tarantino screenplay. The bit with Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken cracks me up just thinking about it and it's got a great ending too.

Okay most people know about this but I wanted our original poster to know this.

Travolta's character Vince Vega is the brother of Mr.Blonde in Reservoir Dogs

In Reservoir Dogs Harvey KEitel has a scene in the big boss's office in which he says, "Yeah Alabama she was a really good thief" well "Alabama" is Patricia Arquette's character in True Romance.

The "person" they are taking Harvey Keitel to see in Reservoir Dogs is a nurse .....the same nurse who is Tarantino's character's wife in Pulp Fiction. Bonnie.

Seymore Scagnetti (never seen) is everyone's parole officer

The actress who gets shot in the collision scene between Bruce Willis and Ving Rhames is the same actress shot gets shot in Reservoir Dogs. Oh if you didn't notice that WAS Kathy Griffin in the crowd at the collision scene.

as for not being sure there are more violent films out there, let me answer that by saying absolutely, positively, there are WAY more violent films than Pulp Fiction out there. Clearly, you're not familiar with the films of Tobe Hooper (e.g. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) or, earlier than him and even more gory, Herschell Gordon Lewis (e.g. Blood Feast, Two Thousand Maniacs), along with a huge list of other ultraviolent film directors.
