I've had a headache for three frickin' days!

Not like a migraine (thank goodness) just a really annoying MSG like headache that goes into my neck. Tried Tylenol. Tried Advil. Tried Bayer, Excederin and plain old aspirin. I even tried Head On (applied directly to the forehead.applied directly to the forehead.applied directly to the forehead).

Any helpful ideas DU'ers?

1. are you drinking enough?

I get dehydration headaches if I am not careful about fluids...

also...are you limiting your supply of caffeine if you are used to drinking it???

3. Actually, when it started I hadn't had any caffeine for a couple

days. I don't drink soda and only an occasional cup of coffee. Had a cup of coffee and it didn't go away. I think I'm drinking enough fluids.

2. headache

I always use 'aspirin free Excedrin" it is the best!!!

4. Take Tylenol Sinus...or another Sinus pill.

This happened to me a few years ago. I had a killer headache for days. Finally someone told me that it was probably sinus pressure in the sinus cavities in the back of my head (who knew?). I took two Tylenol Sinus pills and like magic...the headache was gone!

Right now it's harvest season (Iowa) and the corn and bean chaff is everywhere. In someplaces it looks like it's snowing.
Sinus cavities in the BACK of the head? I'll be damned.

You never know... might have an aneurysm brewin' up there. Is that how you spell that? And they don't really brew, but you know what I'm sayin'.

8. If it's at the base of your neck, you should get it checked out

Don't take aspirin for this kind of headache until you know what's causing the pain.

I think you should get checked out if the pain goes to the back of your neck.

10. Not really stiff...

the pain ends at the base of my skull where my neck begins. It's not a horrible sharp pain or even a throbbing pain. Just a steady dull annoying pain. Not enough pain (really) to even be considered "painful" just enough to be irritating and make me grouchy.
