DSL or High Speed Cable? Opinions? |
|
I'm in the Boston area; just got a new Apple IMAC, but can't get on the net using my current 56k dial-up...
Just looking for a consensus; Verizon DSL is around $15-20 a month; Comcast is over $40...
Pros and cons? Anyone? Any Apple users in particular?:argh:

pretty much neck and neck in general. A lot of it has to do with where you live--not just city, but neighborhood. I've had the same satisfactory service with both. You might want to ask your neighbors and see what they use.

definitely way faster than DSL.A friend said he can hack the modem and double both up and download speeds. If you download big files a lot go with cable.

It might not make a huge difference for browsing, but if you DL large files cable's worth it.
Comcast is suck-ass as far as customer service goes, I don't know about Verizon.
Comcast might have a better introductory offer, and they'll cut your rate if you have cable TV with them as well.
