A recommended movie: "The Station Agent" from 2003.
I rewatched it again yesterday and it is just such a nice movie. It is a comedy/drama and I was just smiling when it was done. I highly, highly recommend it. I have many, many dvds and when I want to watch something and look at them, most I remember and don't want to watch again. The Station Agent is one that I always enjoy rewatching. Check it out at imdb.com:

5. I went to high school with Patricia Clarkson,
and I will always remember her wearing her cheerleader outfit and cowboy boots with orange tassels on them!!

She was in the drama club, and I used to do the makeup for the drama club. Who knew she was gonna go and get *so* famous? I love her by the way....

Not every indie movie has to quirky or violent to make it worth while...

I like these slice of life movies...

11. I love Patricia Clarkson too.
She has what I see as a real life, honest beauty. She seems like somebody you would actually know and not one of those dolled-up, plastic Hollywood stars. She was great in this movie.

10. I was sure that The Station Agent had been discussed before,
but it was just such a delightful movie I just wanted to remind people of it again because it is such a gem. I don't find many movies that just leave me smiling. I am sure that there will be people looking for a movie to rent this weekend and if I could get even 1 to see it for the first time or re watch it, then that would be nice.

13. I LOVE that movie
I remember I Tivo'd it because Michelle Williams is in it, and I like her...I really wasn't expecting much, though, as I knew nothing about the movie beforehand (except that Michelle was in it!) Anyway, I hadn't been so pleasantly surprised by a movie since I saw Donnie Darko the first time. The friendship that develops between the characters is so touching and interesting to watch. It seems totally random at first, but then, you really see how deeply these people need to be in each other's lives...having felt like I've met just the right person at just the right time in my own life, I could completely relate.

Beautiful!

17. I really enjoyed the character of Joe.
He was so affable and full of life and he was determined to be Fin's friend whether he wanted him to be or not. Joe would not be denied and he would not take a hint. The final scene of Fin, Joe, and Olivia was nice and comfortable. On the one hand, I wanted to see more, but on the other, I was satisfied. It was a nice character driven movie without a lot of sex and violence and no tragic ending. It was enjoyable to watch a movie that was just so nice and made you glad you had seen it.
