man, I love the month of October...college football, playoff baseball, nfl, hockey, and preseason nba...:) Man, Cards got shut down hard tonight, but Weaver made one mistake...he did a lot better than I thought...he is usually a HUGE choke artist...

6. I didn't expect him to do that well, either... |
|
you're right, when the pressure's on, he's off. I expect the Mets to advance, though. They won't sweep, but they'll advance.
I have mixed feelings about this time of year...I love the excitement of the playoffs...but at the same time I dread the end. Football does very little for me, though. Heh...in fact, I've come to really dread Saturdays and all the college games.
The leaves are changing, the weather's cooling and you can smell the seasons changing. Time to curl up with a good book, a warm drink and maybe a fire, and wait for spring.
*sigh*
Bet you're sorry you brought it up....

just another reason to love October!...:) I still like football, but I do believe I'm a baseball man first...which is funny, cause I use to be a hardcore football guy...but it got boring to me, and baseball recaptured me in 2000...seeing a game live again, got me hooked...

10. There's something magical about it |
|
but some people start rolling their eyes when I go and get all poetic 'n' shit...so I won't elaborate. But...baseball Rocks.

8. Psycho Weaver was schizoid with the Dodgers |
|
He'd go out and four-hit St. Louis and then get racked up by Colorado in his next start. It was FRUStrating.
And gophers. Dog, the guy could serve up some yaks. :banghead:
I was not sorry to see him go.

|
I'm surprised he did as well as he did tonight. Little brother's the diamond. You seen His numbers?
Day-um.

Damn.
That kid's got an Arm. Going into the break, I don't think his ERA was even 1.00.

who cares what he looks like? Look at Randy Johnson. I don't wanna look at him and *ahem* tingle, I wanna watch him pitch and Tingle.

16. Well, there is the point |
|
that he could ugly some guys out — get a K or a ground ball because the hitter couldn't stand to concentrate.
Maybe Yogi was wrong when he said, "Aw, nobody wins games with their face."
