This morning's edition of "Stuff on my Cat." *dial-up warning*
Obviously, this dork is wayyyy too easy of a target...

So, I moved onto Midnight, since she's pretty fiesty. Although, she obviously lets me (and only me) do ridiculous things to her.

And then it's time to watch some tv...

Oh and this is actually a really good book, and not only because my cat's name is in the title...

And Raoul spots something new to explore (she is the one that routinely goes missing).

She actually crawled onto Midnight by herself. The cat is warm.

Then, I let them sniff each other out. Midnight eventually decides to mark Raoul as her own, then go to sleep.

7. I hug the cats.
I don't hug the lizards. They're small and un-cuddly.

9. I used to have a pet cockatiel that my mom got "blessed."
Yeah, it didn't go so well. The bird was obviously a heathen and started yelling, "Hell" at the priest when he splashed him with Holy Water.

It was extremely amusing. The priest was very taken aback, however the bird was trained to greet people with a "hello." Of course, when he was overstimulated he'd forget the 'o' and just start yelling "hell." Being in a church, surrounded by strange animals while being given a bath from some man dressed really funny is extremely overstimulating for a bird.

My mom didn't try taking any of my pets to the "Blessing of the Animals" ever again.

8. Actually, it's funny because Midnight is the ultimate "take no shit" cat.
She beats up large dogs, the other three cats are petrified of her, doesn't like to be picked up, etc.

However, she's always been oddly good with our small pets. We rescued her at 7 weeks and she immediately bonded to me. I've always been able to do absolutely ANYTHING to her. She didn't let other humans touch her until she was two years old though. Then, it took her having a near-death experience being lost in a blizzard for two weeks, before she was nice to anybody, but me, at all.

Oh yeah, and Midnight only has one fang left, so I'm not too concerned about her bites. The only animal that bites me around here anyway, is Dr. Gonzo, the brother of the dragon pictured above.

12. I honestly think one of the funniest showdowns was with a foster pit I had
Most people expect a pit bull to be a cat killer or something. Anyway, this was a very friendly young male. The first time he met Midnight was in the yard. I had the dog on a long lead. He ran up to Midnight wagging his tail and play barking. Midnight SITS DOWN AND HISSES! Lucky stops and took another slow step forward. Midnight gets up, gets a few quick slashes across the face, and sits the fuck back down. Meanwhile, the pit turns & runs away, as far as the leash allows. He refused to go near Midnight for the rest of the couple weeks that we had him.

She's also a "red-file" (dangerous" animal at the vet, after she decided to wiggle loose and hitch a ride around the room on the vet's ass.

She might have one fang, but she has the claws, stare, and the 'tude to take on anything.

16. I'm pretty sure she defied physics somewhere in the process.
One second he was taking her out of the carrier. The next second, she was behind him (pun intended) with a firm grip, as he danced around the room.

Yeah, we're not popular at the vet office. Between her and the crazy-ass German Shepherd we had (but I still miss her), vet trips were very, very interesting.

18. I saw a physics-defying scene like that once
The dog of a guest was at my place and was having a "show down" with the cat. The cat was at the far end of the bathroom between the end of the counter and the toilet out of our view. The dog would advance a bit until he heard the cat hiss, then back off, then advance until he heard a hiss, then back off...

This went on several more times until finally the dog barked once, very abruptly and loudly. In a millisecond the cat went from out of sight on the floor to on top of the counter.

14. Hilarious pictures

I am amazed Midnight let Raoul walk on her

Midnight reminds me so much of my late cat. She was a devil also and allowed me to do stuff with her others weren't allowed to. But she let people pet her as well. She wasn't an exclusive cat, just a little devil (which was one of her pet-names)

17. That top photo really looks like my Midnight.

Midnight is good with small animals. She just doesn't like cats or dogs and while she's a fighter, she's not a hunter.

One day, I'll have to scan the old photos I have of her with parakeets sitting on her back. Yeah, I used to have a bunch of pet birds and she was even well-behaved with them.

I used to have an awesome picture of my late ball python coiled up on her, but it was a cell phone pic and that phone was stolen.

21. Heh.
Cuddles is technically my sister's cat, so I don't think I'm allowed to mail him away. He's a Ragdoll cat, amazingly a small ragdoll cat at a chubby 18lbs. They're an absurdly docile breed, hence the name.
