Well, I can stand up today as long as I'm careful about it.
It helps if I lean on something. Wish I had a set of crutches lying around or something. Or health insurance so I could go to the doctor and get some. That would be nice.

Hopefully I'll be able to putter about in the kitchen long enough to put something substantial to eat together, I'm starving. One downside of being the only adult vegan in a house full of omnivores is that when I feel lousy nobody knows what to do with me. My sister got me some takeout and put together some just-add-water soup. My five year old son made me toast for breakfast and a sandwich yesterday, which was really sweet of him. He's still being an absolute angel. My sister got him some educational coloring/workbook things and he's working on those while I lie here with my leg in the air.

5. I'm trying really hard to take it easy
I have a million things to do before my upcoming mini-vacation, but I'm trying to stick to things like packing that I can do sitting down and stuff like laundry that I don't have to stand up long to do.

4. Do you have a wheeled computer chair you could scoot around in?
Sorry you're temporarily out of commission.

6. Nope,
my computer chair is an appropriated rattan dining room chair. Usually I kick back on my bed or my son's if I'm in his room with my laptop though. A wheeled chair'd be super handy right now, especially if I could adjust it high enough to cook while sitting.

7. Do you have a broom or mop handle, makes a good cane.
Soak you foot in epsom salt, it is cheap and really makes your foot feel better.

I am now just able to walk semi-normal with my ankle, I hope your ankle heals in time for your vacation.

8. It isn't the downside of being the only adult vegan in your
household. It's the downside of being the only adult vegan WOMAN who usually does the majority of the cooking. The rest of them can't follow a recipe?

I'm not a vegan but I could cook for one if I needed to.

10. Jesus Christ on a raft.
I am so sorry, LM.

Crutches are relatively inexpensive. Maybe $15-$20 at Walgreens. Can your sister go get you a pair?

Can you go to work? (I suck at staying informed - do you work?)

Go with the frozen peas. Ice several times a day -- with compression. Very important. If you don't have an Ace bandage, tie the peas on with long socks or nylons. If you do have an Ace, wear it when you're not icing. Wrap from the toes up.

God, I wish I were there. I know from sprained and broken ankles.
