OK, this is DEFINITELY Lounge fodder.

Is it a little disconcerting when you post something that (at least to you) seems to be such OBVIOUS satire and somebody misses that completely and weighs in with some DEADLY SERIOUS reply?

Usually not here.
Mostly in GD and GD-P.

I try to be kind.
;-)

11. I'll have to remember that one.
Kinda like martyrs. You can't live with them, and killing them, only gives them what they want.

7. Yours wasn't the particular response I had in mind, BUT...
IMHO to "label" sarcasm as such is to belay the whole point.
Hopefully it is self evident or, if not, then I am unskilled at it.
Which could certainly be the case.

8. It's even worse when you use the sarcasm tag
and they still don't get it's sarcasm!

9. Well, it does suck when a post I've put some thought into is
completely misinterpreted - any kind of post, really, not just satire attempts. Sometimes it leads me to go back and realize what it was about my composition that was misleading (online communication can be tricky without visual and vocal cues), and sometimes I just roll my eyes at the dimwittedness being displayed.

It does bother me when the person's misunderstanding leads them to respond to me with a bunch of insults and offensive commentary. Even if I know that they're the one showing ignorance, it still gets my flamewar dander up...
