1. Canada gave us Rush...
...so they're very cool in my book.

Plus, they have to stop if pedestrians step into a crosswalk or onto the street. How civilized!

I'm in Toronto this week

I mean, I'm an America, we've not once but twice allowed an idiot to run our country. Hell, that's enough reason to kick me out of the country right there!

3. Dude, all of Canada can fit on your sofa?
How the hell does your sofa fit in your little pissant "state?"

15. I'll force the cats to sleep on the floor
They tend to lounge all over the sofa but with Abbott's fat ass, if I move him off the sofa we'll have extra room. And I suppose if there is an overflow some of them can camp out in my bedroom.

And my state is not pissant - mighty big words coming from the Armpit of America

22. I don't want to bust in, nor engage in cruel Jersey bashing,
but I just drove through some of that state for the first time, and it really did stink! Came out of the Holland Tunnel, drove a bit, and then whammo! a stink like I've never smelled. Kept driving west, crossed the Delaware, and poof! The air was fresh.

Now I know the whole state doesn't smell like that, because it couldn't possibly. But that was my experience.

23. The bad smell should have dissipated once you were past the industrial
areas.

I live in Morris County, which is northwest Jersey. A lot of it is really rural with woods and farms.

21. This is a true story about the first time I met Canadians:
I was on a train, from Davis, California to Seattle, WA. The plan was to get to Seattle to spend my 16th birthday with my best friend. Well, what is the expression about best laid plans...? The train stopped in the middle of Oregon. Then, it started to go backward, for over two hours... kid you not. I didn't make it to Seattle for my 16th birthday, but some very nice young men, who said they were from Canada, played cards with me (and even offered me a drink ;-)) in "the dome car." We had a great time...and they kept me company and made my sweet sixteen a memorable one. I have had a special place in my heart for Canadians, ever since!

It's a true story...

The End.

29. For some reason, there are many Canadians where I live
And most of them are ridiculously nice. I once told an Egyptian man who lives here that I didn't understand why so many people assumed that I'm Canadian, and he told me it was because I'm so polite.

Funnily enough, though, the person I like least on the campus I live on is Canadian. She is a very difficult woman with a huge ego, and she has spread false rumors about both of my daughters, who are now 8 and 11, for no good reason I can think of. She has made me so angry I have actually seen red, and had to restrain myself from going to her villa and punching her. Mostly, though, I've taken the high road, and not even engaged in the kind of silly war she seems to love, and it has worked well.

Other than that, the Canadians are the most friendly people around.

62. Why do Montrealeans ignore lights &Torontans NEVER jaywalk?
Was in Toronto, then flew to Montreal.

In Toronto, no one jay-walked, even when it was bitterly cold and windy and you could see a vehicle for miles.

In Montreal, people ignore the red light and walk right out in front of traffic.
