My mom died today

She was 81 and lived a good life.

I am still in shock. She had been ill for a long time and her quality of life was not good. She is in a better place and she is with my dad.

It is still so sad.

I am an orphan. Sure feels weird.

Its strange, because while your parents are alive, no matter how old you are, you kind of feel like there is this protective layer between you and the world. Once they are gone, you feel like you have lost that, and its just you and the world. It does feel weird for a good long while.
