Hilarious things written in English by Americans |
|
To piggyback on the Engrish.com thread, I have seen the following abuses by native English-speaking Americans:
*Ice tea (tea made of ice???) *Toss salad (not even gonna go there...:yoiks:) *Devil crabs (Satan's gotta eat too..) *Can goods (can they what??? :P) *Whip cream (didn't know whips could do that)

1. I had a roommate who was high school graduate, yet he made a list of |
|
what to buy at the grocery store and the first item was "Ic Te." I asked him what that was, and he said, "Iced Tea." So much for the California public school system in the 1970s.

9. He was a total predatory playboy (with women and men.) I guess he had |
|
no time to learn spelling or anything. I've never met anyone else who could get a woman in bed so quickly after they first met - usually the same day, sometimes it took a couple of days but he was masterful at it. He sometimes allowed gay guys to do him, but only if there was no woman to conquer.

I had a boss who thought he was smooth, and he always signed his emails, "Chow!" He thought he was being clever, but all he conveyed to us was, "I'm an idiot who doesn't know the difference between ciao and dog chow!"

It takes a kind of idiotic genius to think that writing 'chow' makes you look sophisticated.
