What's your usual experience in GD?
I just posted in GD...and actually got pretty civil responses. Even if I was the bearer of bad news about impeachment:

What about the rest of y'all? If you posted in GD, did it turn into a flamefest, or a healthy discussion?

1. not to brag, but lately I have been on the greatest a lot
Also, that is kinda old news, I remember about a year ago something was written about Conyers not impeaching anyone (yet) and Malloy freaked out and then WilliamPitt posted something about Malloy to take a chill pill and read and Malloy saw that post.

good times

2. Maybe, but...
a year ago, getting control of the House was only a dream. Now it's a better than even chance, so NPR's piece was quite relevant.

I think its too early to say if he will or not. He will have hearings and take it from there. But theres no doubt he will subpeana people and put them under oath.

4. I don't think it's too early to *talk* about the topic
It will be topic #1 in the MSM on Nov 8 (when/if we win the House). So naturally NPR would bring it up in their piece.

5. Most people can discuss things
There are a few people who look like schoolchildren when they try to make you look bad. Overall, I don't mind it in there, and I can take a hit or two. But when someone comes out trying to insult me with really bad debating skills, then I will open my mouth.

I don't think I have ever started a thread in there when not at least one person made themselves look silly. The ones that call you names are the best. I had someone tell me today that I should try out for the Hannity show..LOL. Whatever the hell that was supposed to mean.

6. Pleasant
I stay out of the flamey, tinfoily, and hysterical threads. This morning and last night I have enjoyed the "greatest" and "most underrated" presidents threads. You get a sense of the wealth of knowledge and opinions DUers offer, and I always learn something new.

GD has plenty of cream to skim off the less savory stuff. :-) It takes awhile to learn the maze, but it is rewarding. I couldn't DU without it!
