Firefighter Used Sick Day Before Alleged Heinz Field Outburst

<snip>
PITTSBURGH -- A Pittsburgh firefighter accused of exposing himself during Sunday's Steelers game took a sick day, costing the city $300 in overtime, according to WTAE Channel 4's news exchange partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Martin Sanders, 40, exposed himself at a Heinz Field concession stand and resisted arrest, according to city police.

Pittsburgh Fire Bureau Chief Michael Huss said Sanders called in sick for a 12-hour shift before the game. He has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation, Huss said.

Sanders was charged with three counts of simple assault against police officers working security at the game, two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of indecent exposure, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
<snip>

Dumbass. This guy called off sick on Sunday, showed up at the Steelers game, wagged his weenie at people at the concession stand, resisted the cops, kicking one in the nads, then got tasered twice. A mental giant, for sure.

3. UPDATE: THIS CLOWN HAS ENTERED REHAB!! NO JOKE!!
http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/10098403/detail.html

<snip>
PITTSBURGH -- A Pittsburgh firefighter accused of exposing himself during Sunday's Steelers game while taking a sick day has been entered into the Gateway Rehabilitation Center, said the Pittsburgh Firefighter's Union.

Martin Sanders, 40, is accused of taking a sick day to go to the game, costing the city $300 in overtime, according to WTAE Channel 4's news exchange partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
<snip>
We're very disappointed about this incident," Huss told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "It's embarrassing. It doesn't represent the fire department as a whole."

Sanders, a lieutenant from the No. 27 fire station in Mount Washington, is free on $5,000 bond.

Rehab! The all-purpose excuse. :eyes:

9. A former SO of mine was a regular drinker, and he actually enjoyed
whipping out his Little Buddy, but it was always among friends and was pretty effing funny as well. And he managed to never be arrested or tasered for it, either.

Some people just cannot hold their booze.

10. I was in my cab once on my way to pick up a fare
and this hot mexican dude tried to flag me down, I told him I couldn't, I already had a fare. Then he pulled out his weenie and waved it at me. I was like, OOOOOooh!

5. A friend e-mailed me this link and said, "Look what happens
when you run out of Rolling Rock!". Cute.

I had seen lots of rowdiness at the old Three Rivers Stadium and people carted away, but never (Thank God) saw this.

6. Well, in fairness he sounds pretty sick
You have to have some sort of mental illness to do what he did, so really the whole calling in sick thing shouldn't be a problem no? ;)

8. Well, Steeler fans everywhere were secretly praying that someone,
anyone, would call off sick, pull their dick out at the game, and beat up the cops in order to stop that damned losing streak. Thank god this guy stepped up to the plate! Only 15 more times and we win another Superbowl! We're Number 1.

15. Inquiring minds want to know: Just what was he thinking?
Had he forgotten how to talk and was using charades to place an order? Perhaps he wanted to compare sizes? Maybe he had laryngitis and it was the only way he could get the clerk's attention.

16. we are supposed to work a concession stand at the Stadium
for a fundraiser at my kid's school - but fortunately it won't be for Steeler games, but Pitt games. Whew. I really don't need to see anything like that.
