I sooo totally did my good deed for the week tonight. |
|
We got sushi for dinner. My grandmother stuck her fork into a huge chunk of wasabi and was about to pop it in her mouth, when I yelled, "NO! Don't eat that!"
My ethics actually overrode my cruel humor streak. I'm quite proud of myself and it certainly shocked my parents. Apparently, it is expected of me that I will allow the elderly to eat huge honking wads of wasabi.

1. And if it was anyone but your sweet, grey-haired granny? |
|
Scalded tongue time! Anyway, good for you. Maybe that's what I was smelling while driving across New Jersey: old folks burning up from eating wasabi.

I'm glad you resisted the urge to see her face turn bright red and grab all the glasses of water off the 3 tables closest to yours! Good job! :hi:

4. Well, it was take out. |
|
So she would have had to gone into the garage to grab a bottle of water. We only had sake and white wine on the table.

6. Wow! I've heard of superhuman feats of strength before - |
|
lifting cars off babies, battling bears barehanded, cutting off one's own arm to escape a trap, and suchlike - but what you describe surpasses all such trivial accomplishments. I am in awe.

8. My other good deed was letting my cat eat a vole. |
|
He had already killed the thing and he sulks when I take away a dinner he worked for.

I love sushi and finally convinced one of my college roommates to go eat at a Japanese restaurant with me.
I, of course, ordered sushi. Being a good roommate, I offered him a piece...I even placed a small bit of wasabi on it for him.
He looked up at me and said: "Gee thanks a lot...I won't even be able to taste THAT."
Well......I globbed on a chunk the size of a Dot, you know, the jelly candy...and smiled as he wolfed it down:evilgrin:
Hate to say it but the next few minutes were some of the best in my life.
