How are you guys?
I'm sitting here tonight, terrified. What's to keep them from snatching us off the streets and disappearing us? I'm terrified of my own country. I never dreamed I'd ever be scared. I'm actually having trouble breathing.
How are you guys tonight?
Duckie

1. See, that's the problem with being in OKC, rather than a hop, skip & a
jump from the Canadian border.

3. Well, we keep our passports handy, though I doubt that if the situation
was to arise, we'd know about it in time.

Anyway, I'm not particularly worried about being 'disappeared' just yet.

4. I try not to let hype, on either side, make me fearful
Don't get me wrong, I'm afraid of a lot of things...like speaking in public, driving through downtown Dallas alone, and performance appraisals at work. But, I try really hard not to let politics (or political officials) scare me.

Here  ...you'll be OK. I promise! (unless you are growing pot in your basement, or there's something I don't know about...then you should be afraid ;-)).

6. The 2nd Amendment
that's when you blast assholes when they bust down your door. Our rights are are being taken. Only Democrats can restore our lost rights. Human beings need civil rights like dogs need the Humane Society. I hope we don't end up with less Representation than dogs' have. Just sayin'. People need protection. We are fragile beings when held up to the Powers that be. One Human Being can't fight it all alone. That's why the United States is a 'Union'. The People are all in this together. At least we can all make our best attempt at voting in November.

7.  What Keeps them from it? Nothing but the cost of the effort--
I have a mantra that comforts me mightily--I got it from Emily Dickinson*--"I'm nobody, who are you?" As long as I recognize my inproperly-greased mere-cog-ness in the vast machine, I can see that I am merely an annoyance to be endured--not an entity worth disappearing. But a cloud of mosquitos can cause quite a fever--fatal air--malaria. Sometimes things get scary--but I think we're all still Americans. If people began getting disappeared--this isn't like the former Soviet--people would talk! Me, I'm fine. How are you?

(But also, I think, "I am somebody"--courtesy Jesse Jackson. And I have no cognitive dissonace in the matter whatsoever. I *count* to me, if no one else. )

11. when they kick at your front door, how you gonna come?
with your hands on your head,
or on the trigger of your gun?

when the law break in,
how you gonna go?
shot down on the pavement,
or waiting in death row?

you can crush us,
you can bruise us,
but you have to answer to:
ohhh oh, guns of brixton

12. Duckie, ( Hi-ya, Sweetie!) don't let the bastards
get you down!

They want us to be afraid, very afraid, that way
the Repugs can "control us".

I just think back to when my parents lived in Sweden
during WWII. Everyday, for weeks on end ,
they thought, 'today may be the day the Nazis invade.'
But they went about their lives, as best they could
and contributed to the allies.

They were never invaded.

That inspired me to S**Tcan this friggin fear factor
BS Georgie and his thugs are cramming down our
throats.

Hang in there!
