Most honest villain? (Or other good qualities)
For some reason, I was comparing various make-believe and real-life villians, and the ones from books and movies, it would seem, are far more honest.

I have decided that the most honest, trustworthy of the lot is the Daleks, for openly admitting that they would kill everyone even if there were only one of them left.

So post a villian or bad guy with qualities like honesty, honour, good manners, that kinda thing.

And PLEASE add a short description of the thing in question so I have some idea of what you are talking about!

So here goes:

Daleks: Angry little things that drive motorized tin cans, but are extremely efficient and killing other things. In fact, the main reason they attempt to exterminate everything else is that their basic philosophy is that "to be anything other than a dalek is wrong".

:)

So post away, fellow loungers! Lets see who can get the nicest 'bad guy' or villian!

1. Bleagh. I could have answered this two hours ago, now all I can think
of are evil pillows that don't feel comfy.

3. I vote for Veasey in Cold Mountain
Wanted to hate that little bastard but once you got to know him you just couldn't. Well, I'm pretty sure Inman hated him, but he kind of grew on me.

7. Me neither. I've read the book a million times though.
Inman is a civil war military deserter who is running from the home guard when he comes upon Veasey, a preacher who has drugged his pregnant girlfriend and is about to throw her over a cliff because it's the only thing he can think of to do because he doesn't want his wife to find out about the affair. Inman rescues the girl, ties Veasey up and attaches a note to him explaining what he was up to to be read by whomever finds him. Then Inman takes off, Veasey is eventually found and gets run out of town and they meet up again later on Inman's journey back to Cold Mountain, and their adventures are recounted in the book. He's a total schmuck, but you can't hate him. He's not thevillain per se, just one of many less than stellar people Inman encounters along the way.

...in the attainability of perfection. They assimilate not out of malice, but to improve both themselves and those assimilated. They embrace 'uniqueness,' actively seeking out new species who can advance them on the road to perfection. They genuinely believe that what they do is 'good.'
