'License Plate' For Baby Strollers Lets Citizens Rat-Out Bad Nannies
<snip>

NEW YORK -- First there was the nannycam -- now the stroller tag.

A numbered tag attached to baby's carriage or stroller may allow passersby to alert mom and dad that their stroller-pushing nanny is out of line.

The device is the brainchild of a New York City prosecutor who figured that if strollers came with something like a license plate, onlookers could report bad nanny behavior.

The $50 plates registered to HowsMyNanny.com let tipsters jot down the number and send an e-mail to parents. Reaction is mixed.

A 40-year-old mother of three told New York's Daily News there's "nothing better than getting feedback."

But an executive with the group Prevent Child Abuse America said parents should know that child abuse usually occurs behind closed doors.
