No matter how much I want to hate baseball....
It's in my blood. I try not to watch, but when I am surfin and I see it, I have to stop. There is nothing in the world like a good baseball game.

1. I know. I don't even like the Cardinals or the Tigers
(or the Mets or the A's or the Dodgers or Yankees or Padres or Twins)

but, still, I watch...

3. Same here....
I'm going for Detriot though...they were in the gutter for a long time, and now...look at them now...:) I got a soft spot for cinderella/underdog teams...:)

13. Yep, I basically do the same thing...
I usually go for the AL West team, cause I'm a Mariner fan...but since the Tigers were playing the A's, I was pulling for the Tigers...they have been gutter rats for a while, and I like the underdog....but, the only time I pull for the NL, is when the Yanks are representing the AL!...one of the best series, of late was Diamondbacks/Yanks....when Gonzalez hit that line drive into centerfield to win the game...I believe I jumped about 5 feet in the air, and yelled my ass off...:)

14. I hate everything about every Detroit team
but I am so for the Tigers this year. They deserve it.

I'll be happy if they win the WS, but I'll slip effortlessly back into despising them.

15. I have no reason to despise them
to be honest...they remind me of the KC Royals, just another gutter team, except for this year....

16. Well, the royals would need to shell out 35 million more
to match the Tigers.

But Detroit bought up a few good (but not great) players, put some money into their operation (but still aren't in the top ten payrolls), but a good team together, and has played very well all season.

I can respect them for that and root for them.

But don't make me like them, lol

6. I love baseball
It is probably the most strategic game there is, and I get a kick out of great managers. That last out gave me shivers. I think I'm going with the Tigers on this one.

7. My campus is going crazy right now.
I have no doubt that we're going to get our ass kicked by Detroit, but I'm just happy right now. I never expected them to advance this far, so anything we get at this point is a miracle.

I'm gonna miss baseball. Luckily, it has a fairly short off-season, and we'll be back to spring training in four months or so.

Okay, I don't hate it, am just indifferent to it.

I think the last game I watched was the Blue Jays winning the World Series.

18. I used to find it really boring
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 02:24 AM by fujiyama
but I have actually been to Tigers games at Comerica, that too in '03 when they were facing their worst season, but that was just an excuse to go drink.

But I really haven't felt this much excitement around a sports championship before. It just feels bigger than even the Pistons championships and Red Wings Stanley Cup playoff games. If only the Lions could make it to the Superbowl (HAHAHAHAHA).
