Your favorite bit from the National Lampoon magazine?
Back when it was funny.
Mine was a fake tv guide. One entry was:

...and the Man. Cop carries on after his partner commits suicide.

There were so many great articles. Another was a headline: Diz blows bird at Newport!

3. How about the cover of the Van Gough self portrait
With his ear bandaged up?

Another one was the shot of Lenny Bruce lying dead. The copy read: Nat Henthoff loved him. Ralph Gleason loved him. We all loved him for what he was. A funny junkie.

12. "My Vagina" by John Hughes
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 05:03 PM by swag
The one where the teenage boy wakes up with a vagina, and all the adventures that ensue the miraculous discovery. I think in the next issue Hughes wrote "My Penis" about the teenage girl who wakes up one morning with a penis. Good stuff.

on edit: goodness me here is my vagina.

27. That's the one I was going to mention.
My older brothers used to buy that magazine and I would read them when they were out of the house.

Twisted my sense o'humor at an early age.

Or maybe appealed to my twisted sense of humor at an early age. }(

30. I've been using the phrase "It's muy hot-o here in latin America"
on hot days since I read it 20-30 years ago in one of their fumetti comics (featuring the usual topless brunette).
No one ever knows what I'm talking about.

(I just remembered the same comic had the line "I have never before seen the soft under parts of a man. My people are strict.")
