Got a full-spectrum lamp today
I've never seen light quite like this. It's so... white.

Sort of a bluish-white, actually — like those headlights you hate to see comin' at ya.

Now the rest of the house looks yellow in comparison. x(

4. They can be used for that
This isn't a SAD light box; just a regular floor lamp that uses a fluorescent full-spectrum bulb. They're excellent reading lamps, etc. But they're also used to treat SAD.

2. But does it make you happy?
:P

This song literally just started playing on my music program...

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

5. Whenever I start to feel happy
I just think of this song:

All things dull and ugly
All creatures short and squat
All things rude and nasty
The Lord God made the lot

Each little snake that poisons
Each little wasp that stings
He made their brutish venom
He made their horrid wings

All things sick and cancerous
All evil great and small
All things foul and dangerous
The Lord God made them all

Each nasty little hornet
Each beastly little squid
Who made the spikey urchin
Who made the sharks? He did!

All things scabbed and ulcerous
All pox both great and small
Putrid, foul and gangrenous
The Lord God made them all

Amen

10. LOL! Great lyrics. ;)
I was wondering if the lamp showed up. I'm glad it did. Didn't I tell you that it's almost too bright?

Hope it helps.

3. Please let us know how it works for you...
...I'm curious, since I hate the winters so much and seem to suffer a little from SAD myself.

BTW, did you ever see that episode of Northern Exposure..."Walt's light visor addiction"? It was pretty funny. Not very realistic, from what I've read, but funny. :hi:

7. Many years after it first aired, when I began working night shifts..
..I got into the re-runs. It's all scrambled-up in my little brain, since the seasons were shown out of sequence, but I really enjoyed it. I always seem to enjoy a fad after-the-fact, if that makes any sense.

8. I found it helpful
The first time I made it back from Florida I worked from home in NYC - not much natural light despite all the windows and good exposure. A full spectrum light made everything much better.

9. Love mine
Don't know what took me so long. I guess I thought it would be a chunk of money, but prices are way down. I use mine for needle work. World of difference. Get One.
