1. She played Shirley, right?
No, seriously. Because Penny Marshall was LaVerne.

4. all i ask
is don't tell anybody the secrets
please don't tell the secrets I told you

I like Lucinda ... I'm not sure I'd say I'm obsessed, but I think about those lines, at least, quite often.

7. I met her publicist at SXSW in 2005. He wouldn't tell stories, but...
...he did say that he loves her, but she makes him crazy.

Going to the march today? :hi:

8. Yes... ugh
I say ugh because I have lots to do but two of my friends REALLY want to go, and I can't let them out-radical me, you know...? ;)

I have a feeling it's not going to be very big, though, as I haven't heard about it anywhere except last Wed., and it's not easily Googleable, either. :/

And I am doubly pissed off because one of my best friends is down from Minnesota for the weekend, so we had a little get-together at my place last night and decided we'd all have brunch this morning, but now two of the four have dropped out... one legitimately because her parents wanted to go to brunch, too (the one visiting), and the other just because she's always totally unreliable on this kind of stuff... she just got a part-time job, which she went to for training yesterday, and she's sent me a text claiming she's been "called in early" for today's training. I find this highly unlikely and figure she just didn't get up in time to meet us, even though she was the one who wanted to go at 10:00 (early for me and another girl who were up late!), and we all agreed on that time specifically to accomodate her. I even set my ALARM. On a SUNDAY. And here I am, all dressed, makeup and everything, ready at 9:45 (I am always on time, you see), and I get this text message. Grrrr . Plus my stupid cat kept me awake for the, like, four hours I was actually in bed, so I am a wee bit grumpy now. As well as hungry. She's always doing shit like this. :eyes: It's so inconsiderate.

/rant

Sorry about that. I just hijacked my own thread. haha

It's a beautiful day... so once I get outside and get some breakfast I will be all pumped up, no doubt.

16. obsessed--why no. love her music though---

I drove my car in the middle of the night
I just wanted to see you so bad
The road was dark but the stars were bright
I just wanted to see you so bad
It didn't matter what my friends would say
I was gonna see you anyway
I just wanted to see you so bad
I just wanted to see you so bad
You were staying in a big hotel
I just wanted to see you so bad
I didn't know you very well
I just wanted to see you so bad
We'd always talked on the telephone
But I'd never been with you all alone
I just wanted to see you so bad
I just wanted to see you so bad
SOLO
I got off on the seventh floor
I just wanted to see you so bad
I couldn't have asked for anything more
I just wanted to see you so bad
I saw your face so clear and bright
I must have been crazy but it sure felt right
I just wanted to see you so bad
I just wanted to see you so bad
I just wanted to see you so bad
I just wanted to see you so bad

18. I just love her.
Not sure if that means I'm obsessed though? We heard her play at Gruene Hall outside of San Antonio and it was a magical experience. :) I keep waiting for a new CD to come out. I also get a rush whenever I catch one of her songs in a movie.

19. One of her more poignant songs...
Sweet Old World

See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
The breath from your own lips, the touch of fingertips
A sweet and tender kiss
The sound of a midnight train, wearing someone's ring
Someone calling your name
Somebody so warm cradled in your arm
Didn't you think you were worth anything
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world

Millions of us in love, promises made good
Your own flesh and blood
Looking for some truth, dancing with no shoes
The beat, the rhythm, the blues
The pounding of your heart's drum together with another one
Didn't you think anyone loved you
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
See what you lost when you left this world, this sweet old world
