Amazing canvassing kharma
So I was out canvassing for Lois Murphy yesterday, trudging from empty suburban house to empty suburban house WAY out in the boonies, occassionally getting to talk to a "D" or "R" on my list, who all seemed fairly fed up with "the guys who are in there now"

At one house on my list, there's a car in the drive with a "support the troops" magnet on it, and a "Mom of an Iraq soldier" bumper sticker. Closer inspection also shows a "Moms against Bush" and "Out of Iraq" stickers there too, among others.

Knock on door, woman with wet hair and robe answers, somewhat annoyed until she she's the "Lois Murphy" sticker, at which points she declares her desire to toss out "all the damned Republicans".

So far so good.

Would she like to volunteer? No, she's far to busy at her job. Which turns out to be in a theater where my S.O. used to work a lot. Does she know him? Of course! Sorry that one gig fell through (long story about why a small job recently fell through)

"Hey, would he have any interest in our teaching program? Doesn't pay much, but..."

So get out there and canvass! You never know who you'll run into!
