Tonight's Cards starting pitcher is a righty in more ways than one
Remember when Curt Schilling stumped for Bush** the minute the '04 Series was over? Well, meet tonight's starter for St. Louis, Jeff Suppan. He's not even waiting 'til the Series is over...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061025/ap_on_en_tv/michael_j__fox_campaign_ads

ST. LOUIS - Days after actor Michael J. Fox appeared in a TV ad urging Missouri voters to support stem cell research, opponents will unveil their own commercial during the World Series Wednesday night.

The Cardinals' starting pitcher for Game 4, Jeff Suppan, is among several celebrities who appear in the minute-long ad. Others include Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, Kansas City Royals player Mike Sweeney and two actors — Patricia Heaton of TV's "Everybody Loves Raymond" and Jim Caviezel, who portrayed Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ."

Apparently the dark stain on Suppan's hand will not be pine tar, but blood. Go Tigs!!

Suppan, you may recall, is also the worst base runner on the face of the planet. He got caught in an ugly rundown between third and home in the '04 Series that took the Cards out of any chance they might have had to salvage a game from the Sox. Good thing that ball he hit against the Mets went out.

Here's his official team photo: :sarcasm:

2. Sad fact is...
99% of jocks are freepers. It's the combination of their lack of brains, their entitled existence, their macho posturing, and their considerable income.

Statistically, it would be an anomaly if ANY of the starting pitchers for ALL of MLB's teams were NOT Republicans.

8. It's probably a mixed marriage
Look how many DUers say their spouse is a Republican. :P

Of course, in my case, that won't even be remotely true.

3. You're going to find a lot of that with athletes.

Baseball, especially, has a lot of Jesus freaks. Football and basketball have them, too.

Cardinals. Tigers. I'll bet you a nickel there's a handful on each team. On ANY sports team.

Doesn't mean I don't love the game or my team.

6. In that case, the desired outcome is as follows:
The Tigs rough up freeper Suppan so hard that they build up a big enough lead so that freeper Jones need not enter the game.

Both, however, still have huge big-league contracts, as well as Series bonuses coming, and you can bet that 10% of each goes straight to the thumpers. :puke:

10. A Cardinals v. Yankees World Series would have been far more interesting.
That is a classic world series matchup, reviving a rivalry between two teams that have met eachother in the World Series many times. The Tigers ruined what would have been a far more interesting and historic Series. The Cardinals and Yankess are two teams with great legacies. The Tigers...well, who cares?
