I SPIT on Weird Al!
In "White and Nerdy," he associates "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" with white nerdiness.

We must say "Ni!" to him.

:grr:

12. I have several interests in common with Mr. White n Nerdy
So I guess I should be worried!

Although for some reason, I've always thought that "nerds" can be almost hip in a smart, Seth-Cohen-from-the-OC sort of way... whereas "geekdom" is something you want to avoid at all costs. In other words, nerds and geeks are pretty much the same, except nerds have social skills and geeks don't.

But other people have told me that I have it exactly backwards and it's okay to be a geek but not a nerd.

Now I don't know what to believe

16. Nerdiness is general
Means you just. don't. quite. fit.

Geekdom, OTOH, is specific; i.e. one can be a Monty Python geek (*points at self*) but be perfectly normal in all other ways.

Not that I'm even remotely normal in other ways, mind you.

17. Ah.
Well by that definition I don't think I'm really a nerd as such, but I am a geek many times over. Not that I'm implying that I am normal in any way, shape, or form. :D

18. We need new words for "geek" and "nerd"...
...IMO, no matter how you slice it those words will always have a negative connotation. Therefore, I propose coming up with new, hopefully cooler sounding euphemisms for geek & nerd.

Sorry, I haven't thought of any yet myself...

19. Well, for 'geek'
there's "buff," "devotée," "aficionado," "connoisseur," "habitué," "votary," "enthusiast"...

For "nerd," there's just "dork."

20. It's more geeky than nerdy.
But it's also nerdy.

I like Star Trek and D&D and Warhammer, and just about everything geeky. I know your pain.
